DUNEDIN GRAIN AND PRODUCE REPORT. By Telegraph. DUNEDIN, September 18. Messrs Donald Reid and Co. report as follows : Oats.—Theie is more enquiry for good to best feed for shipment. Milling is not receiving much attention, but clean seed lots, chiefly sparrowbills mid Gartons, move oS freely. Seed lines 2s 5d to 2s 9d, prime milling 2s 21d to 2s 3d, good to best feed 2s Id to 2s 2d, other .sorts Is lOd to 2s. Wheat.—The market is practically unchanged. Fowl wheat is in fair demand, both locally and for export. Prime milling "3s 5d to 3s 6d, medium to good 3s 3d to 3s -lid, whole fowl 3s Id to 3s 2d, other sorts 2s 9d to 3s. Potatoes.—The market is fully supplied, and values for picked seed are well maintained, but for table sorts the demand is not so strong. Inferior is almost unsaleable, but seed lines realise .£l2 to £l3s, fair do. ill to ,£ll 10s, best table £lO 10s to £ll 10s, medium £9 10s 6d to £lO ss, others £5 to £B. Chaff.—There is a good demand for prime oaten'sheaf, but for medium the market is over-supplied and sales are not readily effected. There is no enquiry for inferior. Prime oaten sheaf £3 17s 6d to £4, medium-to good £3 10s to £3 15s, other sorts £3 to £3 ss. Straw.—Best oaten (pressed) 45s to 47s fid, wheaten 32s Gd to 355. Turnips.—Best Swede 14s to 15s. DUNEDIN GRAIN AND PRODUCE! MARKET. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report as follows: We offered a large catalogne at our sale on Monday to the usual attendance of buyers. Competition, however, was poor; but we quitted the bulk of our catalogue at auction and privately after the sale, at prices as per quotations. Oats.—Owing to the reduction in values merchants have had more enquiry for B grade oats for shipment, and consequently there have been more sales. Seed lines are still meeting with good enquiry. We quote: Seed lines 2s 5d to 2s 9d, prime milling 2s 2Jd to 2s 3d, good to best feed 2s Id to 2s 2d, inferior Is lOd to 2s per bushel, sacks extra. Wheat.—There is no change to report in the state of this market. Millers artstill awaiting the final decision in regard to the reciprocity treaty before coming again into the market. There is a good enquiry for fowl wheat. Quotations are merely nominal. We quote: Prime milling 3s 5d to 3s Cd, medium milling 3s 3d to 3s 4Jd, best whole fowl wheat 3s Id to 3s 2d, broken and damaged 2s 9d to 3s per bushel, sacks extra.
Potatoes.—The market remains in much the same state as at our last report. Prime sorts, however, meet with a ready sale for table use. Small seed Derwents are unsaleable, an dthe market is at present glutted with this description. Good samples of Up-to-dates for seed still meet with a good enquirv. We quoteSeed lines £ll 10s to JBI2 10s, extra choice (picked) £l3, prime table sorts ilO 10s to £ll 10s, medium do. £9 to £lO, inferior s and small £5 to £9 10s per ton, bags in. Chaff.—Any chaff coming to hand of other than prime quality is verv difficult to quit. Prime quality is saleable at up to £4. whilst inferior and medium quality, of which there is a large supplv, is bringing from £3 to <£3 15s, according to quality. We quote: Prime oaten £3 17s Gd to £4, medium £3 10s to £3 ISs, discolored and light £3 to J& 5s per ton, bags extra.
Turnips.—The market is fairlv well supplied, and good Swedes are realising from Ifc to 15s per ton, loose, ex truck. Straw.—Wheaten realises from 32s 0d to 355, while oaten straw brings from £2 5s to £2 10s per ton, pressed, ex truck.
