MATAUBA RIFLE CLUB v. COLAG BAY HIFLEB. The Colac Bay Billes' shooting team, to the number of uvelve, lired a friendly match with the Mataura Kills Club on the lattei's range on Tuesday last. On their arrival with (he inoniing nail) the visiting were met iiy Captain Mitchell, Lieutenant Hamilton, and several other members uf the home team. After a visit of inspection had been paid to ihe principal industries in the town, both teams sat down to a luncheon provided in Host Cameron's usual style. lUin fell at intervals throughout the afternoon, and with a variable wind the shooting, more especially that of the visitors, did not come up to expectations. Mr W. I'ryde, with his usual generosity, and for which the club desire to ie!urn hearty thanks, entertained all to afternoon tea. Following are the scores

Majority for Mataura—!))!. The Mataura Defence Hill" Corps will lire a friendly match with other district at Gore on Saturday. A drag will leave Mataura at 8 a.m. The Giir>i and Colac J lay Hitle.a fired a match on the (lore range yesterday, the local men cominj; out on top. To morrow afternoon the Gore and Dunodin Rifles lire a match on thß local rutin*. Ariannements are complete for the teams' mntch to bo firrd at Gore on Saturday, and in which it ia expected some 4U men will take part.
