WENDON PICNIC.
The annual Wendon picnic was held on the school ground on Christmas day. There was ft fair gathering of people from the surrounding districts present. Tbe day was fine, though a heavy wind was blowing in the first part of tbe day, which calmed down in the afternoon. There was not such a large gathering as on former years, but everyone seemed to enjoy the events which took place, judging from the amount of cheers that were given for those who were successful. The picnic committee desire to thank the donors of special prizes, and especially the firms in Gore which gave valuable prizes to be contested for. Following is a list of the several events which took placo : men's sports. 100 yds race, open—Wm. McKay 1, T. Boss 2. 11 stone wrestling—D. Boss 1, E. Badford 2. High jump—Herbert Earle 1, J.
