DUNEDIN PRODUCE MARKET. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Dunedin, report, having hold their usual weekly auction sale on Tuesday. There was a fair attendance of buyers, and prices ruled as under : Oats. —For good sound feed oats there is a good demand, and all lines on offer up to B and C grade quality are readily quitted at quotations. Prime milling are offering sparingly, holders' ideas being a little ahead of buyers', but any lines offering at quotations command attention from millers. Medium and inferior lines are somewhat neglected. We quote : Prime milling 2s 8d to 2s 9d, best feed 2s 7d to 2s Bd, medium to good 2s 4d to 2s 6d, inferior and discolored 2s to 2s 3d (sacks extra). Wheat.—Prime milling is -very scarce, and any lines offering are readily quitted at top prices. Medium quality milling and good whole fowl wheat are offering fairly freely, and for these lines demand is good at quotations. We quote : Prime milling 5s 6d to 5s lOd, good do 5s to 5s 4d, medium do 4s 7d to 4s lOd, medium to best whole fowl feed 4s to 4s 6d (sacks extra). Potatoes.—There has been a little more enquiry for derwents during the past week, but as the market is bare of supplies quotations are only nominal. We quote : Prime derwents £3 to £3 10s, medium and other sorts £2 10s to £3. Chaff. —Prime oaten sheaf is still in short supply and consignments are easily quitted at quotations. Medium quality is coming forward freely, but the demand for this is only moderate. Straw chaff meets with

little enquiry. We quote: Prime oaten sheaf £5 to £5 10a, choice lines £5 12s 6d to £5 15s, medium to good £4 to £4 15s, straw chaff and inferior £2 5s to £3 15s.

SYDNEY WOOL SALES. Sydney, Jan. 6. At the opening wool sale this year bidding was animated, and the market has decidedly strengthened. Prices advanoed from par to five per cent, for medium and good descriptions ; greasy sold to llfd per lb, scoured 20Jd. GORE STOCK MARKET. The. National Mortgage and Agency Co. report as follows : There was a small yarding for Tuesday's sale, only 380 sheep being forward. The attendance was also small, and bidding slow. Fat ewes and wethers brought from 12s to 15s; fat ewes and lambs (in the wool, all counted) brought 8s 9d ; two-tooth ewes and wethers (culls) 7s lOd. Cattle : Only 30 head' penned. Fat cows brought £7 5s to £8 ; fat heifers up to £6 ; yearling steers and heifers up to £3 10s. AUSTRALIAN MARKETS, Sydney, Jan. 7. Butter, best, 9Jd to IOJd per lb. Melbourne, Jan. 7. Wheat, 4s 7d per bushel. Flour, £ll 10s to £l2 per ton. Oats, 3s to 3s 4d per bushel. Barley, malting, 5s to 5s 3d per bushel. Maize, 4s 6d per bushel. Bran, Is 4d per bushel. Pollard, Is 8d per bushel. Potatoes, £7 per ton. Onions, to £4 10s per ton. Adelaide, Jan. 7. Wheat, 5s 2d to 5s 3d per bushel. Flour, £ll per ton, Oats, 4s 2d to 4s 3d per bushel, on wharf. Bran, Is 4d per bushel. Pollard, Is Gd per bushel. BURNSIDE STOCK MARKET. Fat Cattle—l 34 head yarded, only a small proportion being prime. Prices advanoed 10s per head on last week. Best bullocks £ll to £l2, medium £9 to £lO 12s 6d, light £7 to £8 15s, best cows and heifers £8 to £9 10s, medium £6 to £7 15s. Fat Sheep—22lo penned. The sale opened well, but towards the close prices gave way somewhat, and, as compared with last week's, fell from Is to '23. Best shorn crossbred wethers 19s to 20s 9d, good 17s Gd to 18s, light and inferior 13s to 16s Gd, best shorn ewes 18s 9d to 203, medium IBs to 17s 6d, light and inferior lis to 14s. Lambs—624 penned, the greater part of medium quality. Really prime met a good demand, but medium and inferior had dragging sale. Bast 12s 6d to 14s, medium 10s to lis, inferior 7b 6d to 9s. , Pigs—l2s penned. Porkers and baconers met with good demand, but prices for suckers gave way. Suckers 12s to 18s, porkers 34s to a 455, baconers 51s to 60s, big pigs 703 to 88s.
