COMMERCIAL.
CLEARING SALE. Messrs Dalgett and Co., Limited, report having held a clearing sale at Verdlea, on account Messrs M. and T Quaker. It was one of the most successful held in this district for some years. There was a large attendance of farmers from all parts, and as the stock offered was in good condition, sound, and young, bidding was very spirited. Both sheep and cattle brought good prices. The draught horses, which were an exceptionally good lot, averaged £4l fls. A 2yrold filly brought £-15, purchased by Mrs G. Johnston, Waikaka Valley ; 5-yr-old do, £SO, purchased by Jas. PoImc):, liiversdale; .Syrold do, £SO, purchased by K. Sheddan, Waikaka Valley. —** Horses.—The following is a list of prices : Bay gelding £4l, gelding £ls, do £44 10s, bay mare £:10, do £4l 10s, do £SO. gelding £43 10s, do £37, bav rr.are £37, gelding £37, filly £SO, gelding £44 10s, mare £27, bay filly £45. Light horses sold at from £'J to £l!l. Sheep sold as follows -Lambs to 'Js Id, wethers from 0s 2d to 12s Bd, crossbred ewes 7s 7d. Cattle—Fat cattle from £G to £7 ss, steers to £3 15s, calves to £1 17s. Implements and household furniture also sold at very satisfactory prices. We wish to draw attention to our clearing sale at Mr H. P. Campion's, Grand View farm, near Gore, on Wednesday next, 28th inst.
