COMMERCIAL.
DUNEDIN PRODUCE MARKET. Messrs Daloety and Co., Dunedin, report having held their usual weekly auction sale on Monday. There waß a good attendance of buyerß, and prices ruled as under : Oats—There is a better demand this week than last, but at slightly reduced values/ Prime bright feed and milling have awr inquiry, but medium oats, unless thoroughly sound and dry, are not in request. Prime milling, 2s 6d to 2s 7d; good to best feed, 2s to 2s s£d ; medium, 2s 2d to 2s 4d; inferior, 2s to 2s Id. Wheat—There is, if anything, a slightly better demand for very prime samples, but medium quality is not in request, unless it is fowi feed, which has a fair sale. Prime velvet and Tuscan, 4s to 4s 3d; medium, 3s 6d to 3s 3d ; fowl feed, 3s to 3s 4d; broken do, 2s 6d to 2s lid. Potatoes—Supplies are much heavier, and prices are considerably lower. We sold prime Derwedts to-day at from £4 to £4 ss; medium, £3 10s to £3lss; kidneys are worth from £3 to £3 10s (bags in). Chaff—Very large quantities are coming to hand, and unless for really prime oaten sheaf there is little or no demand, medium quality being very plentiful. Prime quality, however, is readily sold at quotations. Prime oaten sheaf, £4 to £4 ss—extra prime, £4 10s; medium, £3 5s to £3 12s 6d (bags in).
GORE STOCK MARKET. The National Mortoage and Aoency Co. report as follows on Tuesday's sale : / There was a small entry of sheep, only 2700 being yarded. The attendance was not large, and prices were back about Is 6d on ewes and wethers, but lambs sold fully up to last sale. Fat wethers sold at 13s; fat ewes, 6s to lis; two-tooth wethers, 10s to lis 4d; two-tooth ewes, 9s 2d to lis 6d; full-mouthed ewes, 5s 6d to 8s fid; lambs, from 5s 3d to Bs. Cattle—7o head penned. Fat steers brought from £6 2s 6d to £3; fat cows, £4 103 to £5 15s; fat heifers, up to £5 sa; two-year-old steers and heifers brought up to £4 15s; yearlings, up to £3 ss; calves, 30s. BURNSIDE STOCK MARKET. Fat Cattle —200 head yarded. Competition was keen, especially for prime bullocks, and last week's prices were fully maintained. Beat bullocks, £lO 2s 6d to £lO 17s Gd; medium, £8 10s to £9lss, light and inferior, £6 10s to £7 10s; best cows, £6 7s Gd to £8 ss; medium, £5 10s to £6 10s; light and inferior, £4 2s Gd to £5. Sheep—232l penned; prices ruling slightly firmer. Best wethers, 15s to 17s 3d—extra prime, 21s 3d; medium, 14s 3d to 15s 3d; light, lis Gd to 13s 3d ; best ewes, 15s to 17s Gd ; medium, lis Gd to 12s 9d; light, 10s to lis Gd. Lambs—best, 10s to lis; medium, 7s to 8s Gd; others, 5s to 6s 9d. Pigs—222 penned. Suckers, 3s to 9s; Blips, 13s Gd to 15s; stores, 16s to 21s; porkers, 24s to 335; baconers, 35s to 525; big pigs, 61s.
