GOKE RIFLES.

The Gore Rifles lired the final competition for the Hallenstein Cup, and X. Z. liille Association's Bronze Medal on the range yesteiday. This year the cup falls to I'm. Young who is one of this year's recruits and is only just commencing his career as a lille shot. Although he did no big shooting jc-lerdtiy he kept pegging away and just managed to win by three points from I'riv. K-?lly who acted as runner-up, and also shot well. As will be seen from the scoies, the scratch men had rather much to do, iheir shooting not coming up to the expectations of the bandicippeis, who hiid averaged the leading scratch man's scores for those distances, and handicipped on the basis of his making X-5. Scrgt. Shank*, being the highest scratch scorer, lakes the N. Z. Ritle Association's Bronze Medal. The following arc yesterday's scores :
