Wednesday, August 15. Fat Cattle— 234 penned, only a few prime. These were in good demand, and brought last week's rates; others showed a slight reduction, the greater portion going to graziers. Best bullocks, £9 to £10; good, £7 to £8 17s 6d ; others, £5 5s to £6 17s 6d ; best cows (very prime), £7 to £9; good, £6 to £7 ; others, £4 to £5 10s, Fat Sheep— 2242 penned. Taking the market all jround the weight and quality were not up to last week's. The sales opened weaker, and there was a decline of Gd to Is 3d. Best wethers. 18s to 19s— two extra pens, 19s 3d to 19s 6d, and one pen very heavy, 21s ; medium to good, 16s to 17s 9d ; others, 14s 6d to 15s 9d ; best ewes, 15s to 16s ; others, 13s to 14s ; merino wethers, 13b Gd to 15s. Pigs— 9o penned;-mostly porkers. Suckers brought 6s to lls Gd ; slips, 12s to 165,; stores, 173 Gd to 22s ,'porkers, 27s to 345 ; baconers, 35s to 42s ; choppers, 47s to 525.
