WYNDHAM SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

MONTHLY MEETING.

The monthly meeting of the Wyndham School Committee- was held last evening. Present — Messrs W. R. F. Fraser (chairman), Bremner, McLauchlan, Bogue,- March, and Stout. ,

■' The headmaster's monthly report, which showed the average attendance for the past month to be 151*7, roll* Humber 107, and= the average for the last quarter 150*04, was received.

A circular was received from the Eltham School Committee (Taranakj) stating ' 'that they were consulting the various Sclpof Qoii}mittees throughout the colony ' prior "fq •petitioning ParHariient on t}ie srtpie', on th§ advisability of school jhspectoys being ap. pointed by the pducatjon Department, and being removed to different districts every t\vq years. On the motion of Mr. W. A. Stoiit, seconded by Mr W. Bogue, it was resolved to send the following reply: "That this Committee, is in sympathy with the objects sought to be attained without committing itself to the term to whioh the inspectors" should "be stationed in one district." ..••-.•

On the recommendation -bf the visiting committee, it was decided, to haye ten loads of gravel obtained, and. spread on .the. school ground ; to ask tlie Town Board to spread some gravel on the footpath near the entrance to school grounds, and to clear broom on-' a section in the glebe. On the motion of the Chairman it was decided to bring under the Board's notice the" deficient ventilation in the headmaster's room.

Accounts amounting to £7 19s were passed for payments. Messrs W. A. Stout and D. F. Bremner were appointed visiting committee for the next month, and the chairman, ' with Messrs Paul! and Bremner, were appointed a committee to make arrangements for the school concert to be held qn the 2(Jlh August, "".
