DISTRICT STOCK SALES.
Mil A. A. MacGimion (on behalf of the' National Mobtoaoe and Agency Co.) reports as follows : — All yardings of stock are becoming small, and only a small amount of business is doing at present. Of course this is owing to nearly everyone having purchased sufficient for present requirements, although there are still more buyers for lambs than can be satisfied, th« quantity offering being very small. Gore Sale. — This was a bare market, and naturally prices were good, every hue going off with spirit, but it cannot be accepted as a fair criterion of values generally. Lambs brought 7s 6d to 8s Cd; store wethers, 11s Id; breeding ewes (inferior), 7s to 8s; fat ewes, 10s Cd. Cattle — A fair number entered, but only limited demand. Good forward steers brought £i ; fat do, £5 to £5 ss ; dairy cows, £6 Us ; heifers, £4 10s ; calves, 14s. Biversdale Sale. — Only a small entry, and few buyers. The sale was dull, a good many lines being passed in unsold. Hoggets were sold at auction at 8s 3d, Bs, 5s Id, and 4q 7d ; store wethers, 9s ; fat ewes, 83 6d. All the cattle entered were passed in.
