DUNEDIN PRODUCE MARKET.
Messrs Donald Reid and Co. report on the above for the week ending December 1 : — Oats. — The market is more animated today, bnt no improvement on late quotations. We quote : Prime milling sorts, 2s Id to 2s 2Ad ; good to best feed, 2s to 2s Id ; medium, ls lOd to ls lld per bushel (sacks extra). Wheat. — Demand keen, and readily saleable at quotations. Prime velvet is specially enquired for, and we have to report the sale of a small Una from central Otago at 5s per bushel. We quote : Prime milling velvet, 4s 9d to ss; do Tuscan, 4s 8d to 4s lOd ; medium, 4s 4d to 4s 7d ; fowl feed, 3s lOd to 4s 3d per bushel (sacks extra). Barley. — No change to report to-day. We sold feed at 2s 2d to 2s 3d per bushel (sacks extra). Potatoes. — None offered. Chaff. — Prime oaten Bheaf continues scarce, and realised £2 15s per ton ; medium (today), £2 to £2 7s 6d per ton (bags extra). The Mutual Agency Co. op N.Z. report that prices ruled as under at their weekly auction sale on December 1 : — Oats. — Bidding at auction to-day was dull, and we had to pass in most of our offerings, buyers' ideas of prices not corresponding with sellers'. We quote : Prime sparrowbills, 2s to 2s Id ; medium to good, ls 10Jd to ls Ujd. Wheat. — Market keeps very firm at late rates. We had none for sale to-day. Potatoes. — Under good competition we sold a few lots at £5 ls to £5 6s. Chaff. — Market bare of prime quality, which we quote at 5551 We sold medium today at up to 50s.
