I Special Advertisements. DUNEDIN WOOL SALES, 1896-97. Donald Reid and Co., i WOOL AND PEODUCE BEOKERS, HAVE much pleasure in announcing that the OTAGO WOOL AND COEN EXCHANGE is now ready for the reception of the ensuing CLIP, and being spacious, brilliantly lighted, and built specially after the most approved designs for the most effective display oi the Wool, it offers unequalled advantages to growers. Ample space being available, there ie room for the fullest display of Sample Bales, and in the case of small lots, the entire Clip is displayed. The DUNEDIN MAEKET is now undoubtedly the best selling centre. A large number of buyers from England, the Continent, and America, attend our Sales ; in addition to tbis, the yearly increasing requirements of our local Woollen Factories (whioh have to be supplied from here) have an important effect in regulating values at our Dunedin Sales. We can confidently recommend growers to submit their Wools at our Sales, as we feel convinced it will be to their advantage to do so. The yearly inpreasing quantity disposed of proves that this is the most advantageous market for selling in, and we feel sure that if a comparison were made it would be found that better results have been secured during the last few yeirs hy sellinc hnrs than by shipping to London. i VALUATIONS. — The most careful attention is given to arranging the Clips for sale, nnd the valuation of every lot, large or small, and every endeavor is made to secure the I highest possible market value. We act strictly as Selling Brokers only, on Commission, I and as the whole business is conducted under our personal supervision, the best guarantee is afforded to growers that no lot will be sold below its full value, and that their interests generally will be thoroughly protected. INSURANCES.— AII Wool and other produce consigned to us either for sale, storage, or shipment, is fully covered by insurance from the time it enters our stores, and oan be covered from cheep's back, if desired. SELLING DAYS.— Our Sales will be held as usual at the Auotion Booms of the Wool Brokers' Association, where fas large catalogues will be offered) a full attendance of buyers, and the best competition, will be assured. The Sales have been fixed to be held as follows :— First Sale.— Thursday, -7th December, 1898. Second Sale,— Thursday, l_th January, 1897. Third Sale. — Tuesday, 2nd February, 1897. Fourth Sale,-— Thur_day, 25th February, 1897. ACCOUNT SALES.— Account Sales will be rendered and proceeds paid over promptly (as heretofore) within six days of the Sale. The Charges on Wool offered for sale and not sold are nominal, being one shilling per bale only. All other charges will be fixed on the lowest possible scale. ADVANCES, AND STATION BEQUIREMENTS.— We make Liberal Advances at Lowest Current Ratps. Free ot Commission, on Wool, either on sheep's back or in store. Woolpacks, Twine, Sheep Shears, and othor Station Bequisites of the best quality and at lowest market rates, always available. Advice Notes, Labels, etc., will be promptly forwarded to any address. Beturning our best thanks for tho hearty support so liberally accorded to us in the past, and assuring you of our desire to merit a continuance of your highly valued confidence and support, — We remain, yours faithfully, DONALD HEID & CO. DEAR SIRS,— The report having boen persistently circulated, both in print and verbally that we, having severed our connection with the Dunedin Brokers' Association, wil be unable to dispose of Wool advantageously on account of the Wool buyers having posi tively refused to attend sales held by those outside the pale of the Association, it gives U! pleasure to be in a position to FLATLY CONTRADICT ALL SUCH RUMORS, which, i most be apparent, are circulated with the view of injuring our business. We need only refe: you to the subjoined letter from the Wool Brokers' Association, and invite growers to attenc our sales and judge for themselves whether or not we obtain the highest market value fo: all clips entrusted to us. . Kindly note, Commission IJ per cent., and interest on advances on Wool in store, 5 pc: cent. — We are, yours faithfully, THB MUTUAL AGBNCY CO., OF N.Z., LTD. TO THE WOOL GEOWEES OF OTAGO AND SOUTHLAND. Di_it Sirs, — My attention having been called to a circular issued by a firm of Woo Brokers in Dunedin, to the effect that the "Wool buyers had notified their intention of onlj attending sales held under the management of the Brokers' Association, and positively refusing to attend sale 3 held by outsiders," I take this opportunity of assuring Wool growers that the foregoing statcm _ts hive no foundation in fact, and that the Wool buyers hold themselves entirely free to attend any sales thoy may think fit, and further, that they have no CDneora whatever with any disputes which may exist between the selling brokers.
