COMMERCIAL.

. 1^ DUNEDIN HORSE MARKET. Messbb Wbioht, Stephexson and Co. report as follows : At Saturday's sale there was a- fair attendance of buyers, and a moderate number of horses, mostly spring carters, forward. Draught horses "'Were poorly represented, very few being forward, and these of poor quality. At present-there is a good demand for young, heavy draughts, and any consignments of this class of horses would sell at very full values. Spring carters- were fairly well represented. We offered a number of good useful horses of this class suitable for spring vans, &c, and the d"mand for them being good, most of them changed hands at satisfactory prices. Inferior horses of this class did not meet with much attention, the demaud bciug confined almost entirely to the better class of horses. The hacks and harness horses, with a few exceptions, were light and inferior sorts, and there was very little demand for them, but there is a good inquiry for strong, useful buggy horses, which, when they aro forthcoming, meet with a good demand. We quote : Heavy draughts, four to six yeai'3, £22 to £27 ; do eight to ton years, £15 to £20 ; light and small do, £8 to £12; aged and inferior do, £4 to £7 ; upstanding spring-cart horses, young and sound, £12 to £1G ; well-bred upstanding hacks and harness horses, £16 to £20 ; upstanding hacks and harness horses, £10 to £14 ; aged and inferior, £2 to £5.
