A Ppecnl meeting of iho Asooointion was held in Mr Dewar's offica oa Saturday »'ternoon, and attended by Meßare M. S. K>n;>---1 don (President), T. Green, W. Macora, J. L>. tfunter, L. Cou:t:>, D. Dun, aad K. Dewar. A circular was read from the. Qeralditie Faimers' Clab, enclosing »» pajv-r read l«y Mr &1. C. Orbell before that Club on Btb iprii last, and stating that at a special nce'.ing of that Club, held on tbe 24th April, to discuss Mr Orbell's paper, the following resolution had been carried : ;< That the Minister cf Agriculture be asked lo invite a conference of delegates from the rarious Chambers of Commerce, A. and P. j. Associations and Farmers' Clubs throughout the colony, to be held upon a date previous to tho next meetirjg of Parliament, to con. 6ider the present unnatisf ictory condition of the frozen meat trade ; and, if considered advisable, to promote with modification either of tho schemes propounded by M, C, Orbsll and D. J. Nathan in their rectnt papers, or aoy other scheme thought necessary for promoting thn object ; and Ib.it a copy of this resolution bo forwarded to the above Associations, requesting their support." Members preasni spoke favorably of the object in view, and Mr Green moved that this Association agree to support the resold tion o£' the Gernldine Farmers' Club, and will do what they can to assist.— Secondel by Mr Coatts, and carried. Mr Grean also suggested that the member for the district (Mr McNub) be interviewed on the subject, and this was tacitly agreed j to. The meeting then adjourned.
