A flew Sheep-Shearing Machine.
GEBSHON BOCAE'S ELEOTBIO ' PATKNT. t Grershon Bowmar, son of Mr C. jR, .M^mar, of Nottingham Meadows, Gore, until recently a well-known threshingmill owner in these parts, is now in England, endeavoring to place on the market some inventions he has discovered. In this colony Mr Bowmar patented several inventions, which gave him fair returns for his intjetfuity ; and part of his objeot in going Hejne was .to dispose of an invention for Shearing sheep, the motive power of which was clockwork springs. That idea, however, althongh it is said to have "run like clockwork, did not meet with approval among persons likely to appreciate such a patent ; and by last mail we learned that, in company with another person, he has applied Jot protcotJpn.ovjsr. as electric sheepHSfiesrer. :' ::!Ehe lollowingis a copy of the provisional specification :— 11 Electric Motor :. Improvements to sheep* shearing and" hair-cutting machinery.— We, Gerflhon Bowmar and H. W. 0. Cox, both of . 10 Curßitor street, Chancery Lane, London, do' hereby declare the notion of this invention to be as follows : •'Onr invention relateß to improvements in machines for shearing sheep and other animate. In carrying out our invention we employ the ordinary clippers, consisting ef two. arras -and;, sets o£ teeth worked over one . another, the arms being actuated to and fro by any suitable electro magnet or magnets, or by a Bolenira or lotary cam motor, which is driven by an electro motor contained in any part of the handle or oaee. • The seta of teeth are pressed together by a spring, in the ÜBual manner. Mr Bowmar is expected back in the colony very shortly* His friends .will wish that this latest result of his ingenuity will prove a profitable source of income.
