Tuesday, 23rd Aphil. The ordirnry meeting of the Board ab Inverscsrgill was attended by the Chief CommissioDer (Mr G. W. Williams), and Messrs Kinross and Cowan . Mr W. Y. H. Hall appeared on behalf of Adam Becker, to ask that an inquiry should be heldinto the conduct of the Government Inspector at the Waikawa Improved Farm Ssltloment, it being al'eged by Becker that. tl?e inspeafcer had treated him unjustly and hatahly, and had expelled him from the settlement — It was decided to grant an inquiry, tbe com pit- in ant to produce evidenca to the CGard in Invereargill at Ills own expense. John McLean applied on behalf of the Carolina Scbool Committee to have ten acres in tbat district set apart as a school si:e. Ho staled fhat at present tbe school and Pt3 were private properly. — The Chief Commissioner said too land was in a State forest reserve, and it would take a little time, at any rate, io get it withdrawn. He would confer wLh the secretary of the Education Board on the matter. An application for the transfer of sections 692 and 693, Hokonui, from Archibald Macdonald to Agnes Boult was held over, Joseph Burroll asked permission to surrender section 5, block 14, Mokoreta, and sections 3 and 10, block 6, Waikawa. — Surrender accepted; improvements to be valued and land re-opened. G. Baxter was granted permission to capitalise oa section 22, block 7, Waikawa. The following transfers were sanctioned : — From Charles Tcmpleton to Thomas Templeton, section 12, block 2, Oi&ra ; from William McPiaei'son to R. and W. Cook, section 18, block 2, Ocara ; from Catherine J. jSruntou to Jane Flint, section 14, block 2, Otara. The following applications for land were granted : — Pastoral run, William Dinwoodie, Antipodes inland, 1510 acres. Leases in perpetuity :D. Nelson, section 828, Hokonui ; William Riley, sec: ion 830, Hokonui ; William Gill, eecaon 829, Hokonui ; Richard Butts, section 731, Hokonui; Chas. Beanie, sections 2 and 22, block 11 and blocks 9 and 10, Dacre. The Receiver of Land Revenue reported as to arrears of rent on section 7G5, Hokonui, and section 77, Wairaki. — Sections declared forfeited, and to be reopened.
