RIVERSDALE 'XMAS TREE.

, — * The annual meeting in connection with tbe above was held in Gee's Hotel on Monday last and was well attended. Mr Valentine occupied the chair. The balance-sheet for last year wa3 read and adopted, and showed a balance of Ll _s Id. A discussion ensued ac to raising sufficient funds to carry on the present year's work, when it was decided that all collectors notify tbe secretory by Ist December the result of their canvass, so that : the committee would be enabled to act accordingly, A loss of L 9 had been entiled on lat>t year's tree, and it was pointed out that if the children were t > have their tree this year collectors would have to make every effort to raisß as much money as possible by the date named The amount spent on toys list, year was 1.36, and fully L_o will be required this year. It was decided to start at _ p.m. in tbe afternoon instead of 7 30 p.m., it being found that in the past tbe gathering ermmated at too late in hour for the children.
