WENDON VALLEY SCHOOL.
The Wcndon Valley School was examined on the 26th ultimo, with highly ' satisfactory results. The following are the names of pupils who hare passed their respective standards : — ■ Standard I— Maggie Headerson, Bessie Miller, Robert Aitken, Thos. Henderson, John Kennedy, James Smith. Standard 11— Thos. Henderson, Wm. T - Miller, James Henderson, Theresa i i Miller. Standard lll— William McDonald, Clara Henderson, Helen McGregor. Standard IV — Catherine Henderson, Agnes Henderson, Thomas Aitken, Wm. Aitken. Standard V— Kate McGregor, Devina Smith. inspector's hemabks. With the exception of Standard 111, which is weak in reading, arithmetic and geography, tho various classes have attained a satisfactory standard of proficiency. 4 number of individual pupils j displayed a considerable amount of intelligence in both the written and oral ] parts of the examination. Order and attention are entirely satis* factory. Grammar— Good. History— A fair proportion of the pupils take a lively interest in this subject. Geography (Standard ll)— Fair. Object lessons— Fair. Mental Arithmetic — A number of the pupils did very well in this subject. Repetition and Recitation—Well known but devoid of rxpression. Drill and Exprcises— Satisfactory. Comprehension of the language nf Reading Lessons— Good in Standard IV . satisfactory in other classes. Tho infant class has made satisfactory progress, i Qw, Pi Bsajk, Inspector.
