It is well known that lodgings are very hard to obtain in Perth (Western Australia), and we copy some advertisements from tho best papers ;— " Advertiser offers handsome bonus to anyone recommending really comfortable lodgings. — Vox Populi, this office." " Wanted, any part West Australia, suitable lodgings ; only object is comfort. Boarding or other hash houses need not apply. Cold mutton and babies unfavorably regarded. Advertiser objects to sharing his bedroom with more than six others.— Disgusted, this office." This unfortunate advertiser must have been occupying queer quarters at the time of advertising. "Fifty pounds r.fforod for address of Comfortable Lodgings, City or Port.— Demon Advertiser, this office." Apparently" Demon Advertiser " could not g-3t what he wanted, for the following appeared a day or two later : — " Demon Advertiser on the war-path again. Fresh Lodgings wanted immediately." The following advertisement must have emanated from one who was in the last throes of despair :— "'Model Boarder' wants lodgings; never complains; eats nothing; sleeps on floor; do family washing; nurse baby.— Model Boarder, this office." Some landladies we know would offer him free accommodation.
