Eirk and Co., Bond street, Duriedin, and Don street, Invercargill, report as follows:— Babbitskins — At this week'a local eales considerable animation was shown among some of the buyers ppon, we suppose, an anticipated advance in the forthcoming Bale in London. Whether the anticipation will be fulfilled or not is a matter which time alone can solve, and at present th s kc »1 opinion is very divided on this point. Despite the uncertainty one or two buyers siowed a disposition to buy every skin in the market, with the reßult that a further ad- j vance was recorded, and only a half-penny short of last London prices was. paid for prime selected does. We have, however, firm orders in all lines, and these prices can* not yet beat us in Riving our customers the full benefit of lait Monday's ruling. All customers consigning to ub mvy be aure of prompt net returns on all parcels forwarded to ue, Horashalr still cotnaundi a good price, and we can take all coming forward at best value?.
