ANNUAL . MEETING, The annual meeting of this Society was held— in room . last evening. The president, Mr Dunlop, was in the chair, and there was a fair attendance of members. The annual report and balance sheet were read by Mr Forbes, and adopted. The re* port stated that at the beginning of the year there were 20 members on the roll, that two had left,. and two^ new ; members admitted, thus leaving the- number the earns as before. Tw_anty»cwo meetings had been held during^eyear, at which the average attendance was ten, fourteen persons -haying been present at the largest meeting and five at the smallest. The balance sheet shewed • a balance ? 6n haridof LI 14s 6d. This was J somewhat less than last year, but in its .-place the -Society possesses sundry furniture •i etc, in its new room which was purchased r-dutingtheyear/' The course of lectures, in - Bpite of heavy- expenditure at Mr Adam's Mecturea, and notwithstHnding the fact that ticketa for - 'the' whole of the course were sold at 2s 6d each, cleared all expenses and left^l^* 7d . to. the. g00d,,. This was congideffedl as every^'satisfactory. -' For the ensuing year, Mr J. .E.G. Hunter was elected president, arid Messrs J. Gr. Fraser and J. Mao Gibbon Vice-presidents. Mr Forbes intimated his wish to retire from ihe secretaryship at present, and Mr Dunlop '•was .elected in his stead. .For committee, Messrs Aitken, Forbes and W. A. McOaw . were elected. A discussion followed as to ; the meetings during the Bummer; when it was resolved to 'meet on the last Thursday of every month, the first meeting to be occupied with, the chairman's address and discussion, thereon. - , .. v . , . . . ■ Tls^mebting then adjourned.
