Arrived— City of Sydney, from Auckland, yesterday morning, Mr Redmond, speaking at Newcastle on Saturday, took occasion strongly to condemn the Dublin murders and agrarian crime generally. New Zealand securities are ut last quotations, viz : — 5 per cent 1040 loan 106 ; ex div. ; ,5 per cent, 1889 loan 103|, ex. div. ; 4|per cent 18794904 loan, 102^ ; 4 per cent inscribed stock, 102 J. .. Colonial breadstuffs continue quiet. Adelaide wheat, ex warehouse, 50s ; New Zealand wheat, ex wareheuse, 45s to 48s 6d; Adelaide flour, ex warehouse. 34s 6d. Australian tallow has further declined. Btst beef is quoted at 435 ; best mutton at 455. The total quantity of wheat afloat for Wreat Britain is 2,210,000 quarters. (Received May 7, at 1.80 p.m.) Melbourne, May 7. Mr Berry telegraphs from Sydney that he has every hope that the Postal Conference will result in the conclusion
of satisfac ory arrangements. A father and mother, together with their four children, have been burnt to death near Beechworth. The father succeeded in bringing out two children from the burning house, and on returning for the others was suffocated. The two children who were brought out \ died soon after from the burns which | they had received.
