It was supposed that a man’s leg found at New Brighton Beach was that of Jonathan Roberts, and a warder was sent for from Lyttelton Gaol to examine the hoot which was on the foot He at once said it was not the prisoner's boot This afternoon another leg and part of a thigh bone were found close to w here the first relic was discovered It is now supposed that they are the bones of a German who was drowned while fishing off Lyttelton Heads three months ago
