CONDITIONS OF RACING. 1. Ti c race may be rowed or sailed, as the ease may be,according to the accepted laws of boat racing in England. 2. That all owners of boats entering for the Regatta must be subscribers of not less than ten shillings to the fund-. 3. The sailing course will be from tjje wharf round Mabel Island and back, leaving all marks on the port hand. Twice round will be twice round the same course, 4. In the rowing races Mabel Island to be left on the port hand, o. Two boats to start for es xih event or no race, and three or no second prfea. 6. The Regatta Committee will ballot tor places for all boats, and such boats must take the places allotted to them. Rost entries will be placed in the order entered and after prior entries. 7. Railing boats will start from anchor with head sails down. 5. Protests will not he received unless in writing, and accompanied with a deposit of *los, which will hr returned if protest allowed, and forfeited ji not. No protest will he received after the •»*>* of the race and tile decisian of the Keaatta Committee will be final, ° p. In Handicap Races each boat to start when told to do so by the starter and no handicaps will be announced beforehand Any boat called back by the starter on aeenuunt of a false start \v ill not be allowed to start until after the last boat. JO. The Regatta Committee will have the right to disqualify any boats for an infringement of any regulation. 11. Each competing boat must carry a distinguishing flag. 12. 'The Regatta Committee appointed for the day will reserve the right to alter the order or postpone any race if it considers it necessary. Id.
