The Cricket Dispute. -The following resolution lias been passed by the Picton Football Club :—“ That the Picton Clu i regrets they cannot send the team to finish the match on Saturday next, owing to several men being absent from Picton, and would wish to bring under the notice of|the Association that their action in conditionally awarding the Cup to the Wairau C.U. is informal in accordance with the Association Buies. Rule 9, last clause, provides that all matches shall bo played on dates allotted by th'e Match Committee ; and Rule 1, first clause, say s the match Committee shall h .ve power to settle all disputes with cup matches, etc. ; and we further protest to the Cup being awarded to the Wairau Cricket Club in accordance with the resolution passed by the Association at their last meeting.” G. D. Mason’s Estate.— A meeting or creditors in the estate of G. D. Mason, watchmaker, of Blenheim, was held yesteiday afternoon. The creditors present were Messrs J. Pratt, I’. H. Hustwick) and W. H. Macey. The following are the unsecured debts :—E. A, Price .£22 16s Id, James Pratt £2O, G. L. Jenues £lB 19s, Healy and Son 7s, C. Williams £3, C. Patchet 11s, Walls 3s 6d, Tucker 63 ; total £66 3s sd. The secured debts amount to £250) and the value of the security (stock in shop) to £2OO. The following are the assets: Book debts £ls, furniture £l4; total £29, leaving a deficiency of £B7 3s sd. Ihe bankrupt was examined on oath and said that he bad been obliged to file his petition as he had heard that a bill of sale on his stock was about to be closed. It was resolved on the motion of Mr Hustwick, seconded by Mr Macey, to recommend tiiat the bankrupt have his discharge as soon .vs possible. •: Interesting to Blenheim.— People are apt to be sceptical when they hear so much talk about getting things .very cheap in Blenheim, but stationery, books, workbaskets and a large stock of fancy goods are now being sold by Card ; and RaboneatcosT price for cash! —Advfc.
