There is no local demand, and prices are nominal at 3d, to 6d per lb. New cure bacon is now fairly offering at an increase of Jcl per lb on last season’s rates ; we quote bacon 7d ; ham S.jd for best Canterbury; other descriptions remain unsaleable. Oats continue to rule at low rates, say from is lid toes id for really good samples; oatmeal from Lio 5s to Lio rod ; chaff J„3 ios to L 4 ros ; Hour unchanged at Lio for sacks, pollard Lq ios; wheat 5s 5d to 5s Sd ; maize, 4s Gd to 4s 9d ; feed barley, 2s 9d to 2s lOd ; beans, 3s 9d ; peas 3s Gd ; rye grass 5s Gd ; Derwent potatoes, 50s to 55s per ton, according to quality ; onions, L 5 10s to LG 10s per toil; cheese, dull at dd to 5d per 111 ; fresh butter, 7d to Sd ; eggs, 2s Gd per doz. The market has not been supplemented by a single shipment of fruit during the week : stocks, however, in retail hands remain ample, these having been quite an absence of business, owing to the extremely inclement state of the weather, and, therefore, the non-arrival of supplies lias not allectcd market prices in the slightest degree. Large shipments of poultry command only fair inquiry, and we repeat last week’s quotations, fowls, 2s 9d to 5s ; ducks, 5s Gd ; turkeys, Ss ; and geese, 5s per pair.
