BATHING FATALITY.

INQUEST. An inquest into the death of William Heuiy Organ, found drowned in the Omaka, was held yesterday afternoon before J, Hodson, Esq, J.P., ActingCoroner. The following composed the jury : James Scollard, John Reardon, John Dempsey, James Simpson, Charles Lucas, William M‘ftae. Mr Lucas wa3 chosen foreman. After viewing the body, the following evidence was called : - Annie Mary Rush knew deceased, William ll'.-nry Organ. He was in Mr T. Smale’s employment, as also was witness. Last saw him a ive at a quarter to eleven on Tuesday morning at Mr Smale’s house in Alfred street. He took a towel and said he was going for a bathe, and would be back iu half an hour. About four p m. she informed Mr Smale that he had not returned. Saw the body at the house of deceased’s father in Howick-* street, and identified it as that of William Ortau. Mr T. Smale deposed that he heard that William Organ had gone for a bathe, and lie sent Harold Mills to tho Omaka River to see if he was there, He came back and said that he wag not there. About two o’clock he (witness) saw the brother of the deceased and, ascertaining that he had not gone home,sent Mills to see if the lad was sleepirg in the willows, and as he hud not turned up at half-past three witness went with Mills to the river, and after about half an hour’s search saw deceased’s clothes on the river bank opposite Mr Grace’s house. Gave information 10 the p lice. The boy was on? of the most civil and obliging boys he had had to do with. Dr Cleghorn deposed that he had examined the body aad found 10 marks of violence It appeared as if dea'h had been caused by drowning. Saw the body at 2 p.m that day and would say that death had taken place 24 hours before. Constable Ward deposed as to finding the body in the Omaka river about seven o’clock on the previous night. This concluded the evidence, and the jury returned a verdict of “ Accidental death by drowning,”
