SAD BATHING FATALITY.
A LAD DROWNED IN THE OMAKA. Yester lay morning a lad name! William Organ, age i 15, was drowned in the Omaka River, near the residence of the Rev. T. A Grac-. It npoears tint Organ, who was employed by Mr T. Smale, was working at the latter’s house yesterday morning, aud about 11 o’c’ock he told the servant that he was going to the river to bathe. An hour or two liter Mr Smale enquired for the lad, and, concluding lie had gone home after bathing, sent to the residenc? of his pirents iu Maxwell Road, for him. When it was discovered that the unfortunate lad had not beeu home Mr Smale became uneasy aud went down to the river, where lie found Organ’s clotlies on the bank amongst the willows by Mr Grace’s house. He at once informed the police, who commenced to drag the river for the body, which was recovered at 7 o’clock last night in shallow water. The lad could not swim, and he must have gone out of his depth, or been seized with cramp in the chilly waters of the Omika. Tiie deceased was a great favourite, and general sympathy will be felt for the bereaved rc'ativcs. An inquest will be held to-day.
