DRESS & MANTLE MAKING. IT ia now three months since we opened our DRESSMAKING DEPARTMENT, and we take the oppor* tunity of thanking the Ladies of Marlborough for the very liberal support they hare given us. The support we have rec ivpd from the public, combined with the abili'y and talent exhibited bv Miss Meredith (who has charge), has now set this department on a firm footing, and we are turning out a larger number of dresses than we it possible to do. We have satisfied ourselves that we were judging the requirements of the district rightly when we determined to buili and fully stock one of the best premises in the colony, and are quite satisfied that (allowing for tightness of the money market which just now undoubtedly exists all over the colony) our efforts to supply the public of Marlborough with what they require at reasonable rates will receive the recognitions we expected and looked fw. We may say thus far we have received a’l we expected, and are sanguine we sh ill continue to do so as long as we can give the greatest comfort and conveirence, combined with the largtst choice and best value, all of which we are now doing. Ladies who have not yet given us a trial are requested to do so, and we guarantee to give them satisfaction. We remain, yours respectfully, LITCHFIELD AND SON, ZDia.A.IE’IEIR/S, OLOTHIERS/^GROOBE-S, MARKET PLACE, BLENHEIM.
