To Stand this Season in the Blenheim District. _ V IEE WELL KNOWIT AMERICAN TROTTING STALLION. Oak Grove. OAK GROVE is a bicod horse with black points, tight years ol stands 16 J hand- high, of splendid bon temper and symmetrical proportions, be ng considered by competent judges to be one of the best carriage hoists ever imported to this Colony. He was brought|from America by John Kerr, Esq., M.H.R. four years ago and has since that time left an excellent re> cord in the districts in which he has travelled. His progeny at an early age distinctly show the gait and pace peculiar to the American Trotter whose ancestors for generations have been trained on the “ track.” OAK GROVE is a son of the celebrated Trotting Stallion “Irvington,” whose performances are familiar to all breeders in the Colony. His dam “Druidess” was bred on the OAK GROVEEstate and in her day was ore of the fastest mares in the States. Oak Grove is a fast Trotter, hss a graceful and elegant style of of action and was specially selected by tbeimporter to put with the valuable American mares introduced into the colony at the same lime. OAK GROVE will travel in the Spring Creek, Tua Marina, Wairau West; and Renwick Town districts. Mares from outside places must be sent in. for which good paddocks are provided at Is 6d per week, every care taken but no responsibility. Terms : 50s per mare, groomage fee 5s to be paid at time of first service. LOUIS D’Or is a chestnut Horse 8 years old standiog over 16 hands high with' great power and is by that celebrated horse TRADUCER, sire fo Lurlioe, Calumny, Templeton, Sir Modred and a host of well known wioners out; of the imported mare Rupee, (late Half Crown). Rupee is by Dollar, the best son of the Flying Dutchman winner of the Derby and St. Ledger of 1819. . Dollar won the Northamptonshire Stakes and Goodwood Cup in 1864, and jii the sire of Salvator, winner of the . Grand Prix de Paris in 1875. Salvator was the sire of the sire of the Duke of Hamilton’s Ossian, which won the St. Ledger, 1883, and ran second in the Goodwood Cupi jn 1884, Louis D’Or received first honors three years in succession as the best thoroughbred entire at the Marlborough Agricultural Show, and ran second to Grip in the C. J.C. Handicap when a thyee year old.
