MORE OF THE NURSE’S STORY. HE “DIDN’T KNOW WHY IT SHOULD TASTE NASTF.” MRS HALL’S CONDITION. TOO WEAK TO GIVE HER EVIDENCE. THE CASE ADJOURNED TILL « NEXT MONDAY. BAIL REFUSED. Pjsr Press Association, Tiharu, Sept. 4. In the Hall case, the old nurse, Hannah Ellison, was again placed in the witness box and was examined by Mr Martin. She said : I obtained some of Mrs Hall’s vomit of the Sunday morniDg after Hal! gave her the iced water. 1 put the vomit in a bottle, but 1 aid not give it to anybody on that day. I gave it to Dr MTntyre on the Monday morning. So far ns I can remember I gave him three bottles on that day. The iced water Mrs Hall complained of was put in the cup on Sunday morning. Ido not know this of my own own knowledge. Mrs Hall said that Mr Hall put the ice in the cup, and he said he did not know why it should taste nasty unless it was the water he poqred out of the jug, Dr MTutyre recalled, said : I know these bottles. I received a ! of them oa the 16th. I handed them to Professor Black on the evening of the lS'.h, and they wire analysed by the Professor. They remained in my possession from the time I received them till the time I handed them to the Professor. I am still attending Mrs Hall; she is not sufficiently recovered to be able to give evidence. She will be strong enough iu ten day? or a fortnight. Afr White said that was all the evidence he was able to lead uow. Mrs Hall had not yet recovered sufficiently logive evidence, ard, as she was a most material witness, he would ask for a remand for teu days. The adjournment was granted to Monday, 13th iust. Bail was again refused in the case of the female prisoner. fWe have been compelled to strain some points before we could bring ourselves to publish some of the evidence iu this case in preceeding issues. In tlje foregoing message it bus been necessary to dominate a quautity of disgusting matter.]
