THE HIGHLAND CROFTERS.
Wellington, Jan 2G. There is no truth in the rumor that the Government intended to send Mr Macandrew to England in connection with the establishment of a settlement of Highland crofters, Dunedin, Jan 2(5. At a deputation which waited on the Premier to-day re the Skye crofters, Mr Macandrew, who was present, denied the statement that he was going home in connection with the proposed settlement. The Premier expressed the opinion that Mr Macandrew would be a most suitable man for the purpose.
