Yesterday’s New Zealand Times says : —At the Resident Magistrate’s Court on Saturday, Charles Edward Gundrey was charged with fraudulently obtaining from Alexander Henry Thompson, of Picton, the sum L 3 by means of a valueless cheque irawn on the Bank of New Zealand it Levuka. Chief Detective Brovuie, vho appeaei for the died for a demand, on the ;hat the prisoner having been arrested mly half an hour prior to his appearance before the Court the case I could not well be proceeded with. The accused, he explained, wished to consult Mr Shaw, solicitor and a remand would therefore meet the requirements of both parties. A remand was accordingly granted, bail being allowed, accused in L 25 and one surety of L2O. Young and feeble mothers with frai children will both become strong by the use of Hop Biters.
