THE WAIRAU PUNT.

To the Editor. Sir,—Would you kindly tell me whether Gouland’s Ferry is a public thoroughfare, or if the passage of the river is at the option of the people in charge. The reason why I ask is that I was detained on Saturday night for a very long time. Others have made a similar complaint and several times had to walk to Tua Marina, having waited until they got tired of holloaing. I am, &c., A Foot Passenger. [During the time the bridge is being constructed we believe all traffic by the punt will be stopped.—Ed. M.D.T.]
