Though the imports of motor-cars and chasses to New Zealand from Great Britain last year were smaller than in 1937, United Kingdom products-- represented about 62 per centum of the purchases of this type of vehicle. With 17,360 arriving from the United Kingdom out of a total of 28,380 imported, Britain retained a commanding position on the market. Canadian cars and chasses increased from 7398 in 1937 to 7735 last year.
Great Britain has more permanent passenger automobiles in the United States was reduced from 1007 dollars in 1925 to 704 dollars in 1937 before the increases in the prices of the 1938 models came into effect. In order to visualise the improvements in American motor-cars since. 1925 it may be pointed out that on the average the maximum horse-power of engines has been nearly doubled since that year. ,•
