NGARUA BRANCH The Ngarua branch of the Women’s Division of the farmers’ Union held another well-attended meeting in the Ngarua Hall recently, Mrs. S. C. Carter presiding. Mrs. A. Donovan gave a, report on the conference held in Wellington. Mrs. -G; Fromm, of Walton, demonstrated stencilling, and exhibited several pieces of finished work. A competition for the best jar of marmalade, judged by Mrs. 'McLean, of Walton, was won by Mrs. A. Hay-, ward with Mrs. J. F. James second and | Mrs. Laird third. Suggestions were invited for next, year s competition for the silver rose bowl, in which fourteen branches will be competing. The branch suggested a luncheon set, baby’s layette and a tray cloth. Other suggestions will be available at the provincial meeting, when public vote will decide. j I* y ~!' ■' The next meeting will take the form of an jlrish afternoon. ~ Afternoonj tea was.>p£y£d,lithe . hostesses being Mesdames W.
