Women’s Institute.

HINUERA Mrs. W. Hollis presided at the July meeting of the Hinuera Women’s Institute. Mrs. Ingles, Mrs. Miers and Miss Isobel Germann were weicomed as new members. The remits for the annual general meeting at Dunedin were read by Mrs. C. Brown, the delegate, and were fuliy discussed by the members;- ' ' ■ / - ■- Mrs. D. B. Higgins gave a very interesting demonstration of eggshell mosaic work, and brought some samples of her work for inspection

Out of. 12 entries in the knitting competition, Mrs. F. Toogood and Mrs. Alec Hawke were first (equal), Miss Rhoda Maffer second and Mrs. Mailer third.

The shortbread competition, in which there were nine entries, was won by Mrs. C. Brown, with Mrs. G. Collins second and Miss E. Hancock third. Hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs. Cannell, Mrs. Hancock, Mrs. W. Brown and Miss R. Maffer. DELEGATES TO ANNUAL MEETING The _ following are the district delegates who are attending-the annual meeting of the Dominion Federation of Women’s in Wellington this week:—Mrs. J. E. Leadjbeater (Matamata), Mrs. G. G. Rainger (Lichfield), Mrs. J. E. Davidson (Te Poi), Mrs. W. F. Price (Springdale), Mrs. H. S. Wright (Taihoa), Mrs. R. W. Burns (Waharoa), Mrs. F. E. Harris (Walton, executive delegate).
