EMPIRE BALL Beauty and simplicity were the keynotes of the decorative scheme carried out at the social event of the year for Ngarua—the Empire Ball held in the Ngauua Hall on Monday evening. Thronged with dancers from Te Aroha, Matamata, Morrinsville, Cambridge and. the surrounding districts, the hall had a gay appearance. Music was supplied by a Waihi orchestra, and extras were supplied by Mr. (Fleming on his piano-accordeon, and Messrs. D. and L. Penticost. The Monte Carlo and lucky spot dances were won by Mr. and Mrs. Burnett and Miss M. Arndt and Mr. N. Lugton respectively.
