The total number of Scouts (at the close of the Scout year, 1934) in the 43 countries was reported as 2,299,089, and an increase of 29,544 on the world total for the previous year (1933). Scouts in the British Empire were given as numbering 905,172, an increase of 34,147 over the total for 1933.
