GOOD MATAMATA HERDS November Testing Figures Matamata county dairy herds were well to the fore in the .list of November butterfat production issued by. the New Zealand Co-operative Herd-testing Association. ’The Mangawhero group topped the list of 85 groups and Tirau group was second. Mangawhero and Tirau , .. The Mangawhero group’s 1321 cows had a, n average production of 8431 b of milk, a test of 4.61 and 38.871 bof butterfat. This was nearly 31b of butterfat more than the average for the month of 91,542 cows tested by the association. The leading herd in the group was . one of 74 cows averaging 46.951 b of butterfat per cow, and the highest-pro-ducing individual cow gave 841 b of fat during the month. The large Tirau group had the fine average of 38.51 b of fat for 2241 cows, a high milk production of 8201 b per cow, and a high test, of . 4.69. IN MORRINSVILLE DISTRICT Herd-testing returns for November in the Morrinsville district reflect the unfavourable weather experienced during that month, and most groups recorded a slight decline as compared with November, 1934. Tahuna group had 769 cows under test, production for November averaging 7881 b of milk, a test of 4.56 and 35.971 b of fat, while a large herd of 91 cows averaged 42.061 b of fat, and the top cow was credited with 871 b of fat. The small Hoe-o-Tainui group had a high average of 36.91 b of fat for ing 8311 b and the test 4.44. Heading its 546 cows, the milk production bethe group list w'as a large herd of 97 cows which gave 41.731 b of fat per cow, and the top cow gave 871 b. The 499 cows in Patetonga group produced well to average 8271 b of milk, a 4.6 test and 38.091 b of fat. The leading cow gave 751 b of fat, and the leading herd averaged 44.881 b of fat for 68 cows.
