OBITUARY

MRS. H. ALLAN SMITH The death of Mrs. H. Allan Smith, of Matamata, occurred suddenly at a Hamilton private hospital early this morning. The late Mrs. Smith was well known in Matamata and Rotorua. She was a daughter of the late Mr. H. Y/ickett, of Rotorua, where Mr. Wickett was in a large way of business as a draper. Mrs. Smith came to Matamata with her husband to manage a branch business nearly 20 years ago, and later returned to Rotorua upon the death of. her father. Mr. and Mrs. Allan Smith returned to Matamata some years ago, and have conducted a business in Broadway since. 1 Mrs. Smith was a charming woman of the utmost integrity, and was a strong adherent of the Methodist Church. Her demise at the age of 54 will be regretted by the whole countryside. The interment will take place at the Hamilton East cemetery m Saturday afternoon.
