Wedding Bells.

NEELS—SOUTER. A wedding of interest to Morrinsville was solemnised in St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Claudelands, on Saturday afternoon, when William Gordon Thomas Neels, eldest son of Mr. W. J. Neels, of Starkey’s road, Kiwitahi, was married to Miss Nellie Souter, only daughter of Mrs. Powell, of Ngaruawahia. The Rev. H. G. Gilbert performed the ceremony.

Though it was a quiet wedding the popularity of the bride and bridegroom was evidenced by the large number of friends who were at the church, the bride being a popular member of the Ngaruawahia Gilds’ Hockey Club.

Tfye bride wore an ankle-length frock of white satin marocain, with sleeves inset with lace. She also wore the customary veil and wreath of orange blossoms and carried a bouquet of white azaleas, jonquils, roses and maidenhair fern.

Relatives and friends were afterwards entertained by Mr. and Mrs. Mackenzie, of __ Wilson street, Hamilton East.

Later the newly-married couple departed by car for Rotorua. After the honeymoon they will live in Hamilton East.

A thoughtful act on the part of the bride was a visit immediately after the ceremony to the Bailey

ward of the Waikato Hospital, where she was well known by a number of the patients. The patients and the nurses were delighted.

“ Just the thing for travelling,” said Adrienne Ames when she was shown the design for her new costume which she wears in Paramount’s “ A Bedtime Story.” The suit is a chic two-piece affair showing a subtle contrast of beige and deep brown. The skirt is of the beige in a ribbed wool and is extremely plain and smart. The well-tailored coat of deep brown wool shows flat revers and snappy pockets, and Adrienne adds a scarf of beige, brown and yellow over her beige crepe silk tailored blouse. The flatcrowned sailor hat is of brown velour, and the pumps and gloves are the same shade in suede, accented with beige trims. The hand bag is crocodile.
