Stock Sales.

MATAMATA. ‘ "**•*»« , —— Dalgety and Co. held their usual fortnightly stock sale at Maiamata oh Wednesday, when small yardings of all classes of stock came forward. Prices were:— Cattle.— Light fat cows, £2. Light Jersey cows, £1 16s. Store cows, £1 2s 6d to £1 ‘6s. Boner cows, 15s to £l. Pigs.— - Light baconers, £1 11s. Porkers, £1 3s to £1 6s. Choppers, £1 Is. Large stores, 16s. Slips, 7s to 9s 6d. Weaners, 6s 6d. Small weaners, 4s to 4s 6d. Sheep.—' Small black-faced lambs, ss. Full-mouth ewes, 2s lid to 4s Id.

FRANKTON. Fairly keen competition was experienced for an average yarding of beef at the weekly stock sale at the Frankton yards on Tuesday, and values for good quality animals showed an appreciable improvement on late rates. A steady demand existed for fat cows, the prices realised for a small entry showing little variation. Store and boner cows met with a dull market. Fat ewes and wethers came forward in usual numbers, and met with a steady sale at values fully up to late quotations. Prices for an average offering of fat lambs advanced slightly. A further increase was recorded in the values for fat pigs, a heavy yarding of which sold under similar competition. Stores and weaners were. slow of sale. Prices were as follows:

Cattle.— - Heavy fat bullocks, £7 15s to £8 13s. Medium, £6 19s to £7 11s. Light, £6 to £6 15s. Prime fat cows, £3 14s to £4 ss. Medium, £2 17s to £3 7s 6d. Light, £2 to £2 14s. Prime fat heifers, £3 15s to £4 17s fid. Medium, £2 15s, to £3 14s. Sheep.— Prime wethers sold at 12s 3d to 13s 3d. Medium, 10s 9d< to 11s 6d.; Prime ewes, 7s 2d to 8s 9d.. Prime hoggets, 13s 2d to 15s. Lambs, 11s 6d to 13s. Light lambs, 9s to. 10s 6d. Pigs.— Prime baconers, £2 to £2 4s. Medium, 35s to 38s. Light, 30s to 325. Heavy porkers, 22s to 295. Light, 18s to 21s. Choppers, 27s to 355. Sows in Pig, 30s to £2 7s 6d. Stores, 14s to 18s. Slips, 12s 6d to 15s. * Weaners, 5s to 7s.
