MATAMATA. At the Farmers’ ' Auctioneering Company’s fortnightly stock sale at Matamata on Wednesday there were full yafdings of all classes of cattle and late rates were fully maintained. Prices were: — Beef.— Heavy fat cows £8 10s to £lO 19s. Medium fat cows £7 to £7 12s 6d. Light fat cows £5 2s 6d to £6 15s. Forward-conditioned cows £4 12s to £5. Store cows £2 15s to £4. Three-year forward-conditioned steel's £8 15s to £lO ss. Cows with calves £6 ss. Potting bulls £4 12s 6d. Dairy.— Good-quality- Jersey heifer calves £3 6s to £3 15s. Heifer calves up to £2 10s. Jersey and Jersey-cross, heifers close to profit £lO to £ll ss. Others £8 5s to £9 10s. Sheep.— Fat ewes 18s. Fat wethers 24s 9d. Store wethers 15s. Store ewes 10s 9d. M.S. hoggets 12s 4d to 15s. Pigs.— Heavy porkers and light baconers £2 5s to £2 12s. Light porkers 35s to 425. Stores 28s to 33s 6d. Weaners 15s to 20s. Sows in pig £5 to £6 10s. MORRINSYILLE. At the Farmers’ Auctioneering Co.’s Mbrrinsville sale on Friday there was a good yarding of sheep and a medium yarding of fat and store cattle, which sold at late rates. There was a medium yarding of fat and store pigs, late rates being maintained throughout. A choice line of 57 medium to heavy baconers on account of Mr. R. J. Mears and a choice line of 42 on account of Graydon Bros, averaged £3 3s 6d. A heavy yarding of dairy cattle came forward, and competition was brisk for choice quality Jersey heifers. Dairy cows close to profit met with good competition, while there was little demand for backward sorts. A choice line of Jersey heifers. on account of Mr. A. N. Gibbons, Kereone, sold particularly well, the top price of £l7 was paid by Mrs. J. O’Donoghue, of Waihou. Dairy Cattle.— Choice Jersey heifers, close to profit, £l4 15s to £l7.

Others, £lO 15s to £l3. Backward sorts, £6 15s to £9. Jersey cows, £lO to £l3. Friesian cows, £l2 15s to £l2. Others, £8 to £lO. Beef.— Heavy fat cows, £7 17s to £S 2s. Light porkers, £2 to £2 4s. Slips, to 26s 6d. Weaners, 9s to 18s.

CLEARING SALE.

Mr. F. McGovern.

At the sale of Jerseys on account of Mr. F. D. McGovern, of Te Awamutu, conducted on Tuesday by Dalgety and Co., Ltd., in conjunction with the New Zealand Loan and Mercantle Agency Co., Ltd., there was a good attendance of buyers and a satisfactory sale resulted. The herd consisted of good grade Jerseys in tip-top condition, and the majority were young. Best early calvers sold up to £l7; backward and aged cows, £7 to £lO 10s. Several pedigree Jersey cows were also offered, but the majority failed to change hand 9. “ Komata Jewel ” sold at 19gns. “ Mifawney of Rosy Creek,” 56gns; “ Clivedale Lady Ethel,” 22£gns; Jersey yearling heifer, 26gns; yearling heifer, “ Clivedale Maiden,” 25gns. Several pedigree Jersey cows on account of Mr. James McGovern sold at from 10 to 23gns.

Estate of H. H. Bryant. A successful clearing sale was conducted by Dalgety and Co. at Tokoroa on account of the Estate of the late H. H. Bryant on Thursday. There was a large attendance of buyers, the principal buyers being from outside districts. Bidding was keen, with the result that practically every line was quitted. Good dairy cows were in strong demand. The range of prices and buyers were as follows:

Mr. K. Wallace, Horotiu, 2; at £ls, 2 at £l4, 5 at £l3 10s, 5 at £l3, 1 at £ls, 1 at £l2, 2 at £ll, 3 at £lO. Mr. Taylor, Okoroire, 5 at £l6, 1 at £ls, 1 at £l4 10s, 2 at £l3. Mr. Vernall, Frankton Junction, ,1 at £l3 10s, 1 at £l3, 2 at £lO, 1 at £ll 10s, 1 at £9 10s, 1 at £ll. Mr. Henry Miller, Hamilton, 2 at £l2, 1 at £ll, 1 at £9 10s, 1 at £lO, 1 at £7 10s.

Mr. Barron, Manawaru, 3 at £l3 10s, 1 at £ll, 1 at £l2 10s, 1 at £lO 10s, 1 at £l4 10s, 2 at £ll 10s, 1 at £l3 10s.

Cows.—Lighter sorts, £3 5s to £6 10s. Empty cows 355. Cows in milk £3 10s to £lO.

Pigs.—Sows £3 10s to £7; sows and litters £4 5s to £9 10s.
