PRESSING FROCKS.

Here is a helpful hint for the girl who makes her own frocks. Most materials are better pressed on the wrong side and one naturally follows this rule. Yet there are exceptions. The hem of a taffeta, georgette, satin or crepe de chine frock should always be pressed on the right side. If the hem is pressed on the wrong side the outline of the hem top is clearly shown on the right side of the material. It is necessary to place a piece of clean material between the silk and fcke iron. These fabrics crease very easily. ' Don’t press too heavily on the iron, and you will be pleased with the result.
