REST ROOM FUNDS.
Several parties have been given lately in aid of the. funds of the proposed rest room, including a v tennis afternoon held at Mr. and ' Mrs. B. Knyvett’s residence, at which Mrs. Knyvett and Mrs. W. Were the hostesses. This was v; a most enjoyable affair and some good tennis was enjoyed by a number of guests. , Another delightful bridge after-!W noon was given by Mrs. B. C. Tay- . lor at her home. A guessing competition was won by Mrs. Laurie. The bridge players were Mesdames Johnson, Lamboume, Mehrtens, Laurenson, Keeley, Cottrell, Lawrie, Kusabs,, Story, Johnson, Wallace and X Buchanan. Misses Robinson arid Mehrtens and Mrs. Keeley won the prizes. .J ' Mr. and Mrs. Lambourne’s residence was the scene of another party and although the weather was unfavourable there were many people present to enjoy competitions and ■; games and to patronise the wellladen stalls . arranged on the verandah. The winners of the comnetitions were: Doulton bowl, Mrs. Hartnett; plain cake, Mrs. Knyvett; iced cake, Mrs. Hartnett; roast turkey, Mrs. J. Buchanan.
