Matamata. Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Brunton left Matamata last Monday for a threeweeks’ motor tour. Mr. J. Melville, of the Matamata Primary School staff, is confined to bed with bronchitis. Mrs. Chalmers, who has been the guest of her sister, Mrs. M. Madill, of Taihoa, has returned to her home in Kihikihi. Mrs. Bluck, of Taihoa, is spending a few days’ holiday in Hamilton. Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Fleming, of Te Awamutu, are the guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Harding. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Arnold, of' Tu-ranga-o-moana, have been on holiday,, paying a visit to their daughter, Mrs. Brinstead, of Christchurch. They also visited Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. J. Montague have left Matamata for Wanganui, where they are visiting Mrs. Montague’s parents. Mr. A. Boulcott, formerly of Tu-ranga-o-moana, has taken up/ residence in Rotorua. Miss C. Mehrtens, of Christchurch, sister of Mr. L. Mehrtens, of Matamata, is on a visit to her brother and sister-in-law and will be staying over the week-end. Putaruru. Mrs. Rutherford is on a visit to her son at Tirau. Mrs. Bailey is spending a holiday in Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. Lock, of Te Awamutu, visited Putaruru last week. Mr. A. G. Leggatt spent the week-end at the Waihi beach. Mr and Mrs. Nelson Law, of Wellington, visited Putaruru last week. Mr., Mrs. and Miss Flyger were visitors to Auckland last week-end. , Mrs. W. Proctor returned to Putaruru on Monday after a lengthy holiday spent in Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. H. Baldwin and Mrs. Snedden returned on Sunday after a motor tour of the Taranaki district. Mrs. J. Rutherford, of Tirau, paid a short visit to Mrs. F. Halse last week. Miss N. Bent, of Puketurua, re- i turned last Monday from a three weeks holiday spent in Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. A. Law, of Mokai, left for 1 a holiday to be spent at Auckland and Gisborne. Mrs. A. G. Leggatt left on Sunday for a week’s holiday to be spent at the Waihi beach. Mrs. Barr Brown left last week for a holiday to be spent at the Bay, of Islands. , Reed left for Palmerston North last week for a month’s holiday- i Mesdames Leggatt, Coupe, Smith, Hutchison, Hooper and Barrett spent last Thursday on the Rotorua golf links. Dr. and Mrs. Haslett and family returned last week from a month’s holiday spent at their seaside residence at Takapuna. Mrs. Hutchinson, of Auckland, who has been on a visit to Mrs. R. A. Bent, returned to her home last week. Miss Allwood, of Lichfield, left on Monday for Whakatane, where she entered the public hospital as a probationer nurse. Morrinsville. Mrs. S. C. Parlour and the Misses Parlour have returned to Morrinsville after spending a few weeks at Puru, Thames. Mrs. Donny, of Kiwitahi, has returned from a short visit to Auckland. Miss E. Bodmin spent a few days at Auckland last week. Miss T. Moore, of Bay of Plenty, is on a visit to Morrinsville.
