Stock Sales.
MATAMATA. The Farmers’ Auctioneering Co. held their fortnightly stock sale at Matamata on Wednesday, when average yardings of cattle and sheep brought somewhat easier prices. Fat pigs were yarded in good quantities,, while porkers and store pigs were in medium numbers. Prices were:— Beef.— Heavy fat cows, £8 10s to £lO ss. Medium fat cows, £7 5s to £B. Light fat cows, £5 15s to £6 15s. Store cows, £2 15s to £4 ss. Cows with calves, £4 to £B. Potting bulls, £3 15s to £7. Best dairy heifers, close to profit, £ll. Good heifers in calf, £6 10s to £B. Others, £5 to £5 15s. Sheep.— Prime fat hoggets, 28s 9d. Good framed woolly m.s. lambs, 12s 6d to 15s 6d. Others, 8s 9d to 10s. Aged ewes, 12s 6d. . . ’. , i
Pigs.— Heavy baconers, £4 to £4 6s. Medium baconers, £3 12s 6d to £3 18s. ' Light baconers, £3 2s to £3 Bs. Heavy porkers, £2~16s to £3 2s. Light porkers, £2hSs to £2 14s. Slips, 25s to 335.^. . Weaners, 11s to 225. , S M Hamilton; There was a good demand for beef ' at the Frankton sale on Tuesday and prices advanced. Sheep remained steady, and pigs were slightly easier. Cattle.— Fat bullocks up to £l2 10s. Light steers £9 13s. Heavy fat cows £lO to £lO 10s. Medium £8 7s 6d to £9 2s 6d. Light £7 to £7 ss. Vealers £2 10s to £3 10s.
