PIAKO ASSOCIATION. Election of Officers. The annual meeting of the Piako Hockey Association was held in Morrinsville on Thursday, Mr. J. M. Thompson presiding. The balancesheet showed that the finances were in a satisfactory state. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows:—Patron, Mr. S. Harvey; president, Mr. J. M. Thompson; vice-presidents, Dr. W. R. Lawrence, Revs. F. Gardner Brown and G'. Weeden, Messrs. E. Sneli, J. ■ B. Steele and A. Ward; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. E. MunnBrowne; hon. auditor, Mr.* L. Osborne; delegates to Auckland Hockey.. Association, Messrs. L. C. Kent and R. Avery; delegate to Auckland Ladies’ Association, Miss E. Simp- ,i son. . The secretary was instructed to write to the Waipa and Rodney associations, congratulating them on their success at the Auckland Country Week tournament last season, and to the Rangitaiki, Whangarei and Auckland Ladies’ Associations, whose teams were bracketed’ for the ladies' championship at thepl tournament. It is proposed to commence the season on the first Saturday in May. The draw, will be decided at a meeting on April 24. x Votes of sympathy were passed with Mrs. J. E. Fitt, Mrs. C. A. Pryor and Mrs. J. Verner.
