Stock Sales.
MATAMATA. At the stock sale held at the Matamata. yards on Wednesday by the Farmers’ Auctioneering Co. there were heavy yardings of all classes of sheep and cattle. Store sheep sold at usual values, while beef was slightly easier than at last sale. All classes of pigs were yarded, in good numbers, baconers and porkers, maintaining late rates, while competition was easier for stores. Prices were: — Dairy Cattle. — Choice Jersey heifer calves, £4 2s to £5 Is. Others, £2 10s to £3 7s 6d. Extra choice Jersey heifers, run-, ning with bull, £9 14s to £ll ss. Others, £8 to £9 10s. Beef. — Heavy fat cows; £7 5s to £8 11s. ; -Lighter sorts, £5 9s to £6 17s 6d. I Forward conditioned cows, £4 15s to £5 10s. ‘ -Store cows, £2 10s to £4. Runners, £3 15s. . Bulls, £5 to £B. Slips, ,27s to 325. Weaners, 13s to 255. Smaller sorts, 7s to 11s. MORRINSVILLE. At the Farmers' Auctioneering Co.’s Morrinsville sale on Friday there were good yardings of store sheep and cattle and a medium yarding of beef. Sheep and beef maintained their values. There was a heavy yarding of calves and competition was exceptionally keen, practically every lot being sold under the hammer. A total yarding of 706 pigs came forward. Baconers and porkers sold readily at late rates, while competition was slightly easier i for slips and weaners. A choice line of 30 heavy baconers on account of Mr. R. J. Mears averaged £4 12s, and a choice line of 21 on account of Messrs. Graydon Bros, averaged £4 12s. Prices were:— Cattle. — J Fat cows, heavy £7 14s to £8 16s; medium £6 17s 6d to £7 10s, light, £5 17s 6d to £6 14s. Cows and calves, £6 7s 6d to £7 3s. Fresh store cows, £4 10s to £5 .2s 6d. ’ \ ' /. • Store cows, £3 17s 6d to £4 ss. Jersey heifers, r.w.b., £6 to £7. Shorthorn steers, calves, £3 16s to £4 11s. Woolly fat wethers, 345. Best store lambs, 14s to 16s 9d. Others, 10s 7d to 12a 6d. Cull ewes, 12s 6d to 14s. Pigs.— Heavy baconers, £4 8s to £4 13s. Medium baconers, £4 Is to £4 6s.
